Amputation is a medical procedure performed in the film. Two characters, Joe and Cherry had to undergo this procedure.

Cherry was amputated due her right leg had gotten torn off by Sickos. She was immediately taken to the nearest hospital. After awakening in the hospital, she was shocked to discover that her leg was missing. When the outhbreak occured, she stayed there, completely unmoved by the chaos around her. If it wasn't for Wray, she wouldn't have been able to cope with the amputation. By the end of the film, her attitude changed.

Joe had to have gotten his right arm amputated due to a spreading viral infection. Joe had gotten bitten by a Sicko. Unfortunately, the infection was too fast and Joe eventually became a Sicko.
